Background and History
The Ethics Committee was established in response to the growing need for structured ethical oversight in human research within the healthcare sector. With the increasing complexity of clinical trials, biomedical innovations, and patient-centered studies, our organization recognized the importance of a formal review mechanism to ensure participant safety and uphold ethical standards.
Initially formed in 2004, the committee began as a small internal body advising on clinical research practices. Over the years, it has evolved into a fully constituted, independent Ethics Committee recognized by CDSCO It now includes a diverse panel of experts including medical professionals, legal advisors, ethicists, and community representatives.
The committee has reviewed and guided numerous studies, ensuring they meet not only scientific and regulatory benchmarks but also ethical imperatives. Through continuous capacity-building, policy updates, and transparent review processes, the Ethics Committee remains committed to protecting human dignity while enabling meaningful medical research.
